VACANCY : MANAGER, PARTNERSHIPS AND RESOURCE MOBILIZATION

  1. Introduction

The Taita Taveta University Endowment Fund is looking for a qualified, suitably experienced and highly networked resource mobilization individual to drive the building of sustainable  fundraising initiatives and strategies to advance the Endowment Fund goals, including sourcing  financial support for needy University Students.

As a Taita Taveta University Endowment Fund Resource Mobilization Manager, you will lead the TTU Endowment Fund’s fundraising efforts, developing and implementing strategies to secure funding from various sources, including donors, corporations, and foundations, while building strong relationships with stakeholders. 

  • JOB DESCRIPTION
  1. Job Title: Manager, Partnerships and Resource Mobilization
  1. Reporting to: The Endowment Fund Board of Trustees
  1. Duration: Two (2) year performance-based contract renewable subject to satisfactory perfomance.
  • KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND EXPECTATIONS

Strategic Planning and Execution:

  1. Develop and implement a comprehensive resource mobilization strategy aligned with Taita Taveta University Endowment Fund’s Strategic Goals.
  2. Identify and establish strategic and sustainable relationships with potential development partners and donors including individuals, corporate sponsors, grant-making bodies, foundations, and government agencies
  3. Develop and Manage the Fund annual budget
  4. Prepare financial and administrative reports
  5. Develop and manage a robust pipeline of funding opportunities.
  6. Lead in the conceptualization, development and marketing of grant proposals and other funding applications.
  7. Develop and implement an annual work-plan for the Fund.
  8. Monitor, evaluate and report on implementation of the Fund policies, programmes, projects and related activities.
  9. Prepare documentations and organize meetings of the Board of Trustees.

Partner and Donor Relations Engagement:

  1. Build and maintain strong relationships with partners and donors, both existing and potential.
  2. Represent Taita Taveta University Endowment Fund at stakeholders forums, including fundraising events and networking platforms.
  3. Develop and implement partners and donor stewardship plans to ensure ongoing engagement and support.
  4. Maintain effective communication with partners and donors.

Team Leadership:

Provide effective leadership to ensure Fund goals and objectives are achieved and sustained.

4.0 QUALIFICATION AND SKILLS

Education:

Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field from a recognized institution.

Possession of a Master’s Degree in a relevant field, from a recognized institution, will be an added advantage.

Experience:

  1. Proven and demonstrable track record in fundraising and resource mobilization.
  2. Demonstrable knowledge and experience in development and management of successful funding proposals.
  3. Demonstrable knowledge and experience in project monitoring, evaluation and reporting.
  4. Demonstrable knowledge and experience in building and maintaining strong relationships with partners and donors.
  5. At least six (6) years experience in resource mobilization, financial management and management of partner and donor relations.

Skills:

  1. Management of Board meetings
  2. Strong leadership, management, and interpersonal skills.
  3. Excellent communication, writing, and presentation skills.
  4. Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with donors and other stakeholders.
  5. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  6. Capacity in fundraising principles, practices, and best practices.
  7. Familiarity with grant writing and proposal development.
  8. Proficiency in using fundraising software and databases.
  9. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

5.0 REMUNERATION

The successful candidate will be paid:

  1. A consolidated salary (basic salary, house allowance, and commuter allowance) in range of KES 209,143 -282,608 per month.
  2. Gratuity at 31% of basic salary per annum.
  3. Medical Insurance cover  as approved by the Board of Trustees.

d. Clearances from the following bodies:

  1. Kenya revenue authority;
  2. Ethics and anti-corruption commission
  3. Higher education loans board
  4. Any of the registered credit reference bureaus;
  5. Directorate of criminal investigations (police clearance certificate)

7. Recommendations (hard and soft copy) from two (2) referees should be sent separately to the address below.
