Prof. Justin Kambale Maghanga holds a PhD in Analytical Chemistry (University of Eldoret), MPhl in Analytical chemistry (Moi University) and B.Sc in Chemistry (Moi University). He has served at Taita Taveta University since 2015 and was the founding Dean, School of Science and Informatics. His research interests are in the field of Water and Wastewater Treatment Technologies, Soil Chemistry and Atmospheric Pollution studies. Prof. Maghanga has vast Industrial experience having previously worked in the fields of; refractories, steel production, paint formulations and black tea production quality control. He has previously worked in the University of Eldoret and Pwani University as a Lecturer. Prof. Maghanga is a practicing Environmental Management Consultant, registered and Licensed by NEMA as a Lead Expert in EIA/EA.

Prof. Maghanga has professional membership with the Royal Society of Chemistry, Environmental Institute of Kenya, Chemical Society of Kenya and Pan African Chemical Society. He also sits in the Technical Committee “Sanitation and wastewater treatment” in Kenya Bureau of Standards. He has accomplished several consultancy and professional reports in the field of Environmental Impact Assessment for a number of public and private organizations in Kenya.  He has successfully and continues to supervise several graduate students in the fields of Environmental Chemistry. He has published widely and contributed to book chapters as well as attended several international. Prof. Maghanga has won several University and National Grants; currently he is a co-PI in an NRF Kenya project focusing on Development of mushroom based nutraceuticals.

What We Do

We provide guidance on course selection, admission, dissemination of exams up to certification. We also oversee Planning of Programmes as well as provide research, and quality assurance secretariat services.
