Education Department

The Department of Education is an Academic department that develops and administer education and teacher training programmes at Diploma, Bachelors, Masters and Doctorate levels. Currently, the department offers Bachelor of Education (Science) and Bachelor of Education (Arts) programmes. The department is developing other programmes that are scheduled to commence soon. These include Post-Graduate Diploma in Education, Master of Education (Educational Foundations, Curriculum and Instruction, Educational Psychology, Educational Administration) as well as PhD programme in Educational specializations.

Short history of our department

Education Programme was first introduced at Taita Taveta University in the year 2018 as a Bachelor of Education Science Programme. The First batch of students was hosted under the Department of Mathematics, Statistics and Physical Sciences in the School of Science and Informatics. Following the tremendous increase in the number of students admitted to the Bachelor of Education Science Programme and in line with the University’s strategic plan, the Department of Education was established in February, 2020 and in 2022 The School of Education was established.
